Research Interests

  • Phytomedicine & Therapeutic Interventions: We explore plant-derived bioactive compounds with immunomodulatory, antioxidant, and tissue-protective properties to develop evidence-based therapeutic interventions for inflammatory diseases, environmental toxicities, and enhanced health and productivity in livestock and poultry.
  • Inflammatory Diseases & Organ Dysfunction: Our lab studies localized and systemic inflammatory conditions, focusing specifically on: Dermatitis (skin inflammation and barrier dysfunction) Hepatitis (hepatic toxicity, inflammation, and metabolic disruption) Nephritis (renal injury and inflammatory cascades)
  • Environmental Toxicology & Heavy Metal Pathology: We examine how sub-acute/chronic exposure to environmental toxins, particularly heavy metals, induces systemic toxicity, oxidative stress, and multi-organ tissue damage. Our team uses translational mice and broiler chicken models to map the pathophysiological cascades triggered by toxicant exposure.
